Most people would say Dustin Latimer is the greatest rollerblader of all time, and I would have to agree with those people. This is Lat at the end of his blade career and he was still blowing minds.
I got the chance to skate and chill with Arsene only for a little bit while he was in town. So I’m really stoked to see all the other hi jinx he got into while he was in SF. Gotta love the Kengarden sticker in the trailer!
Over on Skatelife.tv Damien goes off on a rant about how he left Xsjado and it’s right up there with the Angie Walton Mushroomblading podcast! He goes off on some people in this and it’s great to get a glimpse of how things run behind the scenes. The rant is really really long but definitely worth the read. Check out the article here.
I am introducing a new part of the blog. Deal With it TV! It’s going to be everything from cycling/kendama footage to full video profiles on skaters/riders. I wanted to launch the idea with a full video part. So Kevin Yee has been working with me to try and put out a FULL part for the blog. I’m wrapping up the editing and the part will be out sometime later this week. Here is a photo to get you JUICED until then.
Richie should definitely be the Skater of the Year for 2011. No need for One to do their little poll. I love everything about this. Look everyone you can skate “smaller” stuff and it doesn’t have to be lame as fuck. You don’t have to just look for the weirdest thing to grind then call it a day. There are so many tricks in this that are just so quick and steezy. Richie has some of the fastest feet in the game. Richie for SOTY in 2011!
New montage from the SSM boys! Tons of sick shit in here, I really loved Bolino’s half cab double fish 3 out on the big berkeley ledges. To much sick shit to name off just go watch it here.
It’s pretty crazy you can get a few VG’s now on Netflix. To bad it’s none of the older ones but maybe in the future they will. I kind of doubt it because the older ones had so much classic music I doubt they could get the right to those. But this is still a great way to get more eyes on blading. I hope DAP is making some skrill from this!
This is another photo that One didn’t use in their Blade Life with Kevin. I really liked this angle of it as well as the side view one, that they did use.
It’s kind of weird that Ground Control hasn’t ever made a video since they have been around so long. Well better late then never, I guess. They have some epic riders on the team so this should shape up to be a pretty good video. I’m just hoping one day people will stop with the fucking time lapse already.
I had these bad boys back in the day. Those giant metal circles under the frame bolts sure did look cool. But got damn did they suck ass on ledges. This is actually not a bad looking boot, if you put a new frame on it they wouldn’t be half bad. I mean shit some people are still riding M12’s so why not these? Look like a bigger soul space to me. So they had the Dirk which was black, the CI 5 which was a weird green tan and then they had the Daytona which was the super bright blue version of this boot. Then eventually they had the Spizers which had those really cool star frame bolt covers and those came in a nice grey color.
