My homie Ethan sent me a link with these 2 hand made maple and ebony kendamas made by Oji Masanori. I have never seen these or heard of these in my life which is pretty crazy because I thought I had pretty much seen it all. What I get from the translation on the page is that they wanted to make damas using fancier wood, and didn’t want to deal with the JKA standard. So these are more of like pieces of art then anything. If you check out the website they make all kinds of really epic wooden goodies. Nice find Ethan!
I just got my new Luke Evans custom Grip Kendama!!!! Mateo had a few of these when we went on tour for only a few of the dudes. So I knew when tour was over I had to get myself one of these bad boys. Basically they are inlaid with rubber so it makes it looks super fucking steezy, and also a pleasure to grip. I’m going to get Sourmash to do his magic on the wood tama so expect a pic of that thing soon. I know Luke is working on getting more made, getting a patent and opening a web store. So you should be able to get your hands on one soon. Thanks again Luke and nice pics too btw.
I found this vintage dama deep in the depths on the internets. I really love the book that comes with it and the seal on it as well. Also that little red dot on the top of the tama is a nice touch. Looks kinda jenky for normal play but still a nice piece of history.
In the middle is Alex Ruisch’s Lavender Ozora. We posted it with the mugens to 1. make you drool at them and 2. to give you a reference of the color of the Ozora. These were given out in the 2008-9 tournament to all the JKA members that entered. The paint is just like the old white packaging ones so you know its buttery. Good luck finding one of these bad boys!
The rarest of the rare just arrived at my door yesterday. I had to trade an epic dama to get it but I’m more than happy with the trade. I had a white mugen that I got way back in the day when they were normal priced but I didn’t know about super glueing the tip so its spike is so flat. I won’t be making that mistake again, this thing has layer upon layer of super glue and it’s ready to shred! No way this shit in staying in package, damas are to be played not put on a shelf.
So I finally got my hands on a Sky Blue Mugen!!! This is really the last color mugen I wanted for my collection. I wouldn’t mind a pink one but this is really the one I wanted. So stoked to finally have it. This is definitly the best blue of any kendama out there.
Usually the pic of the day is blading or cycling but not today folks. What you are looking at here is Alex Ruisch’s new extremely rare PURPLE FUCKING MUGEN!!!! You could have all the money in the world and still not be able to find one of these. To get one of these you need some hardcore connects, and frankly Ruisch has em.
I’ve never heard of or seen a dark green mugen. It appears to be from the factory because it’s still in the package. So I’m assuming it’s not just some aftermarket paint job. With normal colored mugens selling for upwards of $500. I can’t image the insane price this thing would sell for. Either way its fucking beautiful, and I don’t really use the word beautiful.
